What BuildCalc provides

BuildCalc offers free calculators and guides that help homeowners estimate materials for home improvement and yard projects. Results are estimates based on the numbers you enter and on common assumptions explained in each guide. They are not professional, engineering, architectural or legal advice. Please read our Disclaimer, which is part of these terms.

Your responsibility

• Check your measurements and the results before you buy materials or start work.
• Follow product labels, manufacturer installation instructions, and your local building codes and permit requirements.
• Hire a licensed professional for structural, electrical, gas, roofing or other work that requires one, or when you are unsure.

Acceptable use

You may use BuildCalc for personal and professional planning. You agree not to:

• Copy and republish our guides, tables or calculators on another website or product without written permission.
• Use bots, scrapers or other automated tools that overload the site or collect its content in bulk.
• Try to break, probe or bypass the site's security, or upload harmful code.
• Click ads you do not have a genuine interest in, or ask others to do so.
• Use the site for anything unlawful.

Content and intellectual property

The text, tables, calculator code, graphics and design of BuildCalc belong to DB Digital Hub unless noted otherwise. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote a short excerpt with a link back to the source page. Trademarks and product names mentioned in our guides belong to their owners; mentioning them does not mean they endorse us or that we endorse them.

Ads and links to other sites

The site shows ads served by Google and its partners, and our guides link to outside sources such as manufacturers and code publishers. We do not control those sites or ads and are not responsible for their content, products or practices. Any purchase you make from an advertiser or store is between you and that business.

No warranties

We work to keep our formulas and information accurate and we cite our sources, but the site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of any calculator result or guide, or that the site will always be available or error free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DB Digital Hub is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its results, including over-ordering or under-ordering materials, project delays, property damage, or injury. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

We may update these terms or change, add or remove calculators and guides at any time. The effective date at the top shows when these terms last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
